When can I take off my mask?

On the afternoon of March 22nd, the Shanghai New Coronary Pneumonia Epidemic Prevention and Control Press Conference was held. Wu Fan, a member of the Shanghai Public Health Expert Group on Epidemic Prevention and Control and Vice President of Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University, introduced the prevention and control of Shanghai New Coronary Pneumonia.

Spring is blooming, in response to the question of when you can remove the mask, Wu Fan said: Regarding the guidelines for places (occasions) and personnel wearing masks, three kinds of people must wear masks:

First, those with fever, nasal congestion, runny nose, cough and other symptoms must wear masks.

The second is that relevant practitioners must wear masks (including medical personnel in medical institutions; practitioners engaged in public services; staff engaged in epidemic situations) in accordance with the practice regulations and relevant regulations.

The third is that people entering crowded places (occasions) must wear masks (including hospitals, welfare institutions, schools, vehicles and stations, theaters, indoor playgrounds, etc.).

In addition, it is advocated for the elderly and infirm, with low immunity and patients with chronic diseases to wear masks voluntarily when they go out.

For the protection in daily work life, Wu Fan particularly hopes that the existing health habits should be retained. Including good habits-washing your hands is especially important; coughing, sneezing, covering your mouth and nose with your elbows; involuntary touching your eyes, nose and mouth; often opening windows for ventilation. And a good system-employee health inspection management system; regular disinfection system in public areas.
